They have some perfect glasses for gin & tonic and sherry. Alas, nothing close to a whisky tumbler.
Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11837937289153998729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8176940657289976265.post-28591153670113930332013-06-07T20:36:12.223-03:002013-06-07T20:36:12.223-03:00Hi! At least that is what George says. I checked on Ebay and here is a link to someone seeking roughly $70 for a single glass:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/EDINBURGH-Crystal-THISTLE-Cut-Shot-Tot-Tumbler-Glass-Recent-Style-/221019590318?pt=UK_Art_Glass&hash=item3375cb4eae&_uhb=1

Good luck!Jason Deblyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13305087714773608306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8176940657289976265.post-30332233355278563882013-06-07T05:22:41.002-03:002013-06-07T05:22:41.002-03:00Hey Jason. With Canadian, I avoid comparing it to scotch, as it is quite different. It has its place as I am sure McCarthy's.

Thanks for commenting and welcome to the blog. If so, I sure hope you told him of the damage and cork tainting that would cause. As for the Oregon bottle of single malt, I would save my money and not buy that one. It's not bad but it's not great especially for the price they are asking for. Where I am at, I can buy many, many better Scotches then McCarthy’s for less the cost such as Oban, Lagavulin, Ledaig...

That's the trouble with specialized distilling I guess. The cost to produce at descent quantities tends to cost small distillers too much and resulting in the price a lot of the times out weighing the product. Very reliable stuff in that range. Everything there is pot still made. We're big fans of Andrew's traditionally styled Williams Pear Brandy. Haven't tried his whiskey and at $55/750ml, it's got some very tough competition for my dollar. They produce a variety of brandies, liqueurs and one single malt.

The single malt whisky you refer to involves the importation of peat malted barley from Scotland.

The Whiskey Clear Creek Distillery is one of several non-traditional (ie. not bourbon or Tennessee whiskies)distilleries cropping up in all sorts of unexpected parts of the United States. I'd like to try it sometime.
