In August 2009, I started this blog. Eight years later, I have over 5 million hits. I want to thank all the readers of this blog for taking an interest in what I have had to say over the years.
I have a question for you.
Do you prefer written reviews or video?
There are many paths in life.
I value your input!
Best,
Jason
P.S. My gut feeling is you prefer written reviews on this blog, and save the video reviews for YouTube. You are more literary and intellectual than the average bear. Lemme know.
Written all the way for me. I'm a reader
ReplyDeleteNice to know the world still has some people who are not using their computers as TVs. Written it is from now on!
DeleteI prefer written. I read faster than I watch
ReplyDeleteHi Jason. You're a personable reviewer in both modes. But I have to say: the written word is your forte. Enjoying the wit and insights. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThank you gentleman for chiming in.
ReplyDeleteWritten reviews it is from now on!
I'm also a fan of the written ones, I can sneak a read while at work. Plus some of them are really, really funny - you do have a way with words.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the kind words. Sometimes I fear my eccentric sense of humor doesn't come across to well in a whisky review.
DeleteHave a great weekend!
Jason, congrats on all the hits! I hope it's made your efforts worth while. I do enjoy your video reviews because they provide concise, focused evaluations of the spirits that you sample, but I also look forword to your written reviews for the stories and reminiscences that you share - it's that extra value the Cajuns call "lagniappe" that keeps customers (at least this one, anyway) coming back for more. Here's to the next 5 million!

Thanks Paul for taking the time to comment.
DeleteWritten reviews will be the future format of the blog. Thanks again!
Jason, in a world with the attention span of a flea, there are still some of us who like to read good writing like your reviews. Keep the vid reviews for youtube and the written work here.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your insightful and entertaining whisky reviews. No one weaves a good story and a whisky together like you.
Thank you Arthur!
DeleteBig Congrats Jason..
ReplyDeleteYou've helped me so much...
Yeah... Written please and if I need to see your smiling face I can always jump over to Youtube... heh heh !
PS: and loving the Re-Reviews mate

Written reviews are better for someone trying to find information - we can read them quickly.
ReplyDeleteVideos give a better sense of who the reviewer - I find them more entertaining.
I think there's a place for both and you do both very well.
You have summed it up well.
DeleteNice to hear from you. It's been a while. Next review is Tomatin 18yrs. Chime in with your thoughts if you get a chance.
Jason,
ReplyDeleteYou have made me a better scotch enthusiast through you blogs. I much prefer written reviews. I look forward to your reviews each month. In fact I am reading this current one in Singapore! Please know that your reviews are great and very appreciated.
Written it is! Thanks for the input and kind comments!
DeleteIn enjoy the written reviews too!
ReplyDeleteWell, with your comment it continues to be unanimous! Thanks for commenting!
DeleteWritten reviews are easier to skim.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love reading the reviews. Your humorous back stories always add a special touch. review notes have always been spot on, whether I have tried the particular whisky already or about to.
ReplyDeleteWell done on being a honest and genuine reviewer!
Cheers
Nick
Written for me. I enjoy your writing style and usually don't watch the videos.
ReplyDeleteI don't really watch YouTube video reviews. I always go to the written word. Too much news etc in general is being put in video. People are getting lazy maybe and can't be bothered to read. But I for one prefer to read. So my vote is don't put video here. Link to YouTube if you feel that a video will really add an element unattainable with a picture(s) and words.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents, cheers
Joshua
Your blogs are credible, persuasive and approachable, Jason. Thank You. Wiser's Legacy (discontinued but available), and Green Label (Wow/amazing!); your videos are also great! Roy from Ottawa
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will continue blogging then based on the positive feedback.
DeleteToo bad Wiser's Legacy has been discontinued.
Glad you are enjoying the Green Label!
I log in at work, print out the review, read it at locations with no PC Access. Written is the better format.
ReplyDeleteWritten it shall be from now on.
DeleteThanks for commenting.
